Deborah earned a Master of Science degree in speech and hearing sciences from the University of Washington and has been working as a speech language pathologist for over 25 years. She has experience in both public school and private practice settings.

Special areas of interest include literacy, executive functioning, and orofacial myofunctional disorders. She has completed extensive coursework in these areas and continues to learn about new research and methods to help children improve communication skills, including speech sound production, language, literacy, and oral functioning for speech and swallowing.

Deborah attended two years of Slingerland training, which is an Orton-Gillingham approach to reading, at Hamlin Robinson School in Seattle and has been working with children to improve phonological and phonemic awareness, reading, writing, and spelling for nearly 30 years. She has most recently been learning about orofacial myofunctional disorders and completed the Myo Method to better serve children who need help developing correct oral rest posture, tongue range of motion and coordination, and correct swallow patterns, especially those with tongue tie or lip tie. Deborah is eager to share her love of learning with the children and families she serves.
